CIT Employees Volunteer More Than 6,800 Hours During Global Employee Volunteer Month
Since 2005 CIT Employees Have Volunteered Nearly 30,000 Hours
CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT) cit.com, a leading provider of financing to small businesses and middle market companies, today announced that its employees volunteered more than 6,800 hours during its 2012 Global Employee Volunteer Month. Since the program’s inception in 2005 CIT employees have volunteered nearly 30,000 hours of their time in their local communities.
“Our employees have a strong track record of giving back to the communities in which they live and work,” said John A. Thain, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “From Jacksonville to Shanghai, our employees’ efforts reflect our broad commitment to volunteering as a means of improving the lives of others. I am proud of our employees who gave of their time to make a difference to others.”
More than 1,200 employees participated in 115 projects in seven countries, including Brazil, Canada, China, Ireland, Mexico, Singapore and the United States. Projects included food drives, tutoring students, delivering food to homebound individuals, constructing homes, and beautifying parks, among other initiatives.
